The Bryan Acheampong Foundation, a non-profit organization in partnership with the Kwahu East District Health Directorate and community stakeholders, will host a Community Symposium on Mental Health and HIV Education on August 1, 2025 at the Abetifi Palace Forecourt.
This impactful event aims to raise awareness, dispel stigma and empower individuals with knowledge about mental health and HIV prevention, care and support.
Through expert talks, personal testimonies and open dialogue, the symposium will provide accurate information, promote behavioral change, and strengthen the community’s response to these pressing health issues. Hence the symposium is dubbed, “Know Your Status, Own Your Mental Health”
In a meeting with stakeholders, the Head of Communications for Bryan Acheampong Foundation, Georgette Quarmyne reiterated that the Foundation is of the belief that mental health and HIV education are crucial aspects of every community’s well-being, and expressed their excitement to partner with the Kwahu East Health Directorate and community stakeholders to raise awareness and empower individuals with knowledge.
Open to all members of the public, the symposium will also feature free health screenings, counseling sessions, and resource booths from partner organizations.
Special attention will be given to engaging young people, educators, religious leaders, and caregivers, who play a vital role in shaping community attitudes. This initiative forms part of the Foundation’s broader commitment to improving health outcomes through education, compassion and action.
