Former NPP 2026 Presidential aspirant, Dr. Bryan Acheampong has visited the Presbyterian Church to personally thank the congregation for their overwhelming support during his campaign for the New Patriotic Party’s primary.
The Abetifi Lawmaker was welcomed through the leadership of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, led by the Clerk of the General Assembly; Chairpersons of Presby Ghana and Presby Ghana West; Directors of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana; former Ministers of State and former Deputy Ministers; Members of Parliament and former Members of Parliament.
In his address to the congregation, the MP acknowledged the role the church played during the four-month intensive campaign prior to the 31st January primary.
“On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, I paid a courtesy call on the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, at the PCG Head Office in Osu”, a post on Facebook stated.
Dr. Acheampong, a member of Salvation Congregation, New Achimota District, expressed his gratitude to the Church for “its prayers and support throughout his political journey”, The Moderator encouraged him to continue serving the nation with integrity.
Mr. Acheampong presented an undisclosed cash to the Presbyterian clergy at their headquarters.
Dr. Acheampong also spoke about his experience during the primary, citing “disappointments” along the way.
“Politically, I’ve been aware of this, but I’ve also experienced it firsthand through this process. There’s been a lot of disappointment along the way. None of it was caused by my friends, my opponents, or what one might call my political enemies. I am grateful to everyone who voted for me, and I cannot overlook the one region that gave me immense support and recognition—the Volta Region. – Dr. Bryan Acheampong said.
