The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has stated that it is the long-term vision of Kwahu politicians to ensure that all roads in the area are properly constructed within the next 16 years.
The Member of Parliament for the Abetifi constituency made this statement during the campaign launch of the NPP Nkawkaw constituency team on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
Dr. Acheampong explained that the development strategy for the Kwahu region has been divided into two key areas: infrastructure and human development.
“The reason we are engaged in politics in Kwahu is not for personal gain. Kwahu has been left behind in many areas, and we have taken it upon ourselves to ensure its development. Our plan is divided into two phases. First, we are focused on constructing all the necessary roads in Kwahu within the next 16 years.
Eight years have already passed, and when I talk about Kwahu, I mean Kwahu East, West, South, Afram Plains South, and North. We must ensure that all roads are completed. In the next 16 years, we will also make sure that smaller towns are connected to the national grid, have access to clinics, drinkable water, and then we will turn our attention to human capital development,” he said.
Dr. Acheampong also addressed the health challenges faced by the Member of Parliament for the Nkawkaw constituency, Hon. Joseph Frempong, who has been unwell for the past three months. He pledged his full support to assist Hon. Frempong in any way possible and called on the party to rally behind the MP during this difficult time.
