Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister for food and Agriculture, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has made a passionate and urgent call for unity and utmost discipline within the party as it realigns to reposition itself ahead of the 2028 general elections.
In a statement signed and released to party members and supporters on Friday, June 13, the MP acknowledged recent internal tensions, particularly reflected in social media exchanges and cautioned against divisions that could undermine the party’s progress.
“While passionate political discourse is natural, division and hostility only serve to weaken us,” he said, urging party leadership and the grassroots to prioritize unity, maturity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Dr. Acheampong emphasized the need to restore hope among party faithful by fostering collaboration and embracing the NPP’s core values of discipline, service, and patriotism.
“Now is the time to rise above factions and forge a new path built on collaboration, courage, and credibility,” he stated.
He encouraged all members, regardless of rank, to set aside personal differences and engage in constructive dialogue as the party works to rebuild and rebrand.
“This is not just about moving past disagreements—it is about working together, disciplined and united, to build a stronger future for our party,” Dr. Acheampong concluded.
His appeal comes at a time when the NPP is grappling with internal contestation and public scrutiny in the wake of the 2024 general elections.
Party insiders see the statement as a timely intervention aimed at fostering reconciliation and reenergizing the party’s base.
