Traders in the Central Business District of Accra have expressed satisfaction with sales ahead of this year’s Christmas.

Christmas does not only bring happiness to Christians but also to traders since people spend a lot of money to surprise their loved ones.

Celebrants worldwide usually go to church services, parties and other social events, in beautiful new clothing and splendid hairstyles.

This usually leads to a boom in the purchase of seasonal merchandise, especially for children.

Sharing their experiences on Accra–based UTV, some traders indicated they were not disappointed.

According to them, each and every trader gets their share as compared to last year.

“Last year, it wasn’t very encouraging around this time but this December sales are better,” One woman said.

“It is very good. we thank God purchase is booming, if anybody says business is slow he/she is lying” Another woman stated.

Some also indicated that looking at the level of how they have started, they are optimistic that things will be better for them by the end of the month.

“Yes we have started well, business is not bad so I hope by the end of the Christmas festivals we will get something” one man said.

Business during Christmas is not bad, but the focus is on a few products. “Another thing is that there’s a shortage of some products because we are in Christmas, so more people are demanding certain products and they become expensive,” she said

Though the traders couldn’t attribute the cause of bumper sales in this year’s Christmas festivals they wish it could continue for a long.
