Residents of Busunya Community in the Nkoranza North District capital of the Bono East Region, have threatened to embark on a massive demonstration over failure of authorities to address poor drains causing floods anytime there is downpour.

“Our leaders, (MP) Hon Joseph Mensah and (DCE ) Madam Gifty Akosah Arthur have disappointed us.

We don’t understand why the contractor who created the โ€œmanholes within the townshipโ€ leading to injurious to people should abandon the project. Anytime it rains the whole Busunya got flooded because of absence of drainage system.” They said

According to the Assembly Man, Hon King George, he said despite persistent letters to the Assembly, nothing has been done to alleviate their plight.

He accused leadership of the district Assembly for failing to provide the district capital with roads and drains, since they took over the assembly.

“Is very pathetic and troubling. We will demonstrate if the authorities do not come to complete the project.” Residents said

Meanwhile, The Chief of Busunya Okofo Nyarko Gyabaa ll, sick and pregnant women are dying needlessly as a result of the poor nature of the roads and drainage system, which make it almost impossible for effective emergency services in the area.

He, therefore called on the president Nana Akufo-Addo, authorities responsible for monitoring the project, to intervene to bring the contractor back to complete the project.
