BuzStopBoys receive sanitation materials from President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama on Saturday, September 7, 2025, donated essential sanitation tools to the remarkable BuzStopBoys.

The donation took place during the relaunch of the National Sanitation Day event.

The essential items included 200 wheelbarrows, 300 shovels, 300 brooms, 300 pairs of hand gloves, and a supply of standing brushes.

President Mahama explained that the contribution aims to bolster their commendable efforts in championing sanitation initiatives across the country.

According to him, the donation to the BuzStopBoys was in order, stating that their dedication to fostering a cleaner environment must be exemplified.

He indicated that, “the National Sanitation Day is more than just an event; it is a renewed call to action for every Ghanaian to take ownership of our environment. Let us all commit to maintaining clean communities, not just on designated days, but every day. Let’s build on this momentum! I urge all Ghanaians to join hands and actively participate in keeping our surroundings clean.”

The reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day aims to restore discipline and pride in public spaces.

It will also empower local government structures by making sanitation a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), and foster citizen participation and accountability.

The Assemblies have been asked to prioritize the desilting of drains, removal of refuse heaps, and the cleaning of markets, lorry parks, schools, and ceremonial routes.
