A 20-year-old motorcycle rider has lost his life in a fatal accident at Jukwa in the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region.
The victim, identified as Mohammed Abubakar was reportedly hit by a speeding Hyundai-Mighty truck on Monday, October 4, 2021.
According to report, the Hyundai-Mighty truck with registration number GE 2092 Z was heading to Twifo Praso from Cape Coast when it veered off to the other lane and hit the motorcycle rider in the process at Virgin forest at Jukwa a few meters away from Jukwa Senior High Technical School.
The driver of the Hyundai-Mighty truck lost control after knocking down the motor rider and hit a solar light pole before it finally stopped in the bush.
Two passengers and the driver on board of the Hyundai-Mighty truck who sustained minor injuries were sent to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The motorcycle rider sustained serious degree of injuries especially the head and was also rushed to the Cape Coast hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body has since been deposited at same hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
