Police in the Central Region are investigating a suspected armed robbery at Fijai near Kasoa in the Gomoa East District, where a 35-year-old man, Ben Owusu, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

Owusu, a POP seller, reportedly sent distress messages to his landlord and a female friend around 2:50 a.m., pleading for help as armed robbers attacked his apartment.

Residents say the messages were only discovered later in the morning, prompting them to rush to his home, where they found bloodstains on the floor but no sign of him.

A resident, speaking to Adom News on condition of anonymity, described the scene as disturbing, raising fears that Owusu may have been either killed and removed or kidnapped.

Police confirmed that his Android phone, which he used to send the messages, is missing, while two other mobile phones and a laptop belonging to him were found destroyed.

The Kasoa Divisional Police Command, in collaboration with the Central East Regional Police Command, has launched a manhunt for both the victim and the suspects.

Investigators say it is too early to determine whether Owusu was abducted or murdered but are pursuing all leads.
