A notorious car snatcher has been beaten to death by an angry mob at Awutu Bosomabena in the Awutu Senya District of the Central Region.
With his accomplice, the deceased reportedly snatched a Hyundai i10 taxi cab with registration number GE 5718-22 at Nsawam.
According to some residents, it has always been the modus operandi of the suspects, who are residents of Nsawam, to hire the services of taxi drivers and have their vehicles snatched in the Awutu area of the Central Region.
The two hired the services of a taxi driver from Nsawam and attempted to snatch his vehicle from him at an area on the stretch close to the Awutu Bosomabena village.
The driver, under attack, raised an alarm, attracting the attention of some residents who came to his rescue.
The mob arrested the suspects. However, luck eluded one of the suspects, and he was beaten to death.
The police saved the other suspect and are currently in the grips of the Awutu Breku District Police Command.
The partly damaged vehicle was also taken to the police station.
Meanwhile, the police have commenced investigations into the incident.
