Chief of Twifo No.1 in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district of central region Nana Okai Ansah I has called on the government and corporate bodies to come to the community’s aid to put up a school building to replace the existing structure.
Nana Okai Ansah I lamented the current state of the Twifo No.1 D/A Primary School, stating that the school was built in 1984 with local building materials, sticks and sand as part of a community self-help project initiative and has been serving students for the past 40 years.
He added that the current state of the school poses a dangerous threat to both teachers and students, implying that school activities must be halted whenever it becomes cloudy.
The call to government comes after a teacher at the school, Mr. Isaac Agyiri, donated ten (10) bags of cement to help with the school’s renovation.
Mr. Dominic Lord Hodanu, the school’s headteacher, revealed in an interview that the government began a teachers’ quarters project many years ago, but it has been stalled for years.
He is therefore urging the government and other individuals to help complete the project.
