Residents of Assin Foso in the Assin Central municipality of the Central Region were thrown into a state of shock when a teacher resident in the town allegedly committed suicide.
The deceased, Catherine Ansah, 27, is said to be a newly posted teacher, teaching at Mankessim Nkwanta but came to visit her sisters and grandfather at Assin Foso where this happen.
According to her grandmother Madam Mary Pamfors ,they realized that it was unusual for her to be out of her room in the morning, and so they called her phone several times, but she was not answering.
Adding that ,they look everywhere in the room where she was sleeping with the family but their search prove nothing.
This raised some suspicion and that prompted them to break into another room only to find her dead.
They said, she took her life using a sponge.
“This morning, we didn’t see her and we kept calling but she was not answering. So we became suspicious and when we entered her room, we found her dead,” a relative said.
The cause of her action is unknown.
Police say investigations are currently ongoing.
Meanwhile, the body has been taken to the St.Francis Xavier Hospital morgue in Assin Foso for autopsy and preservation.
