Gobԑ sellers in the Twifo Atti-Mortwa district of the central region have threatened an indefinite strike action due to the high prices of the ingredients used in preparing the popular meal for customers in the district.
In recent times, “Gobԑ” has become one of the most patronized local dishes due to its ability to sustain consumers for longer periods with the little amount they can afford in these hard times.
With the meal not only sustaining consumers for a longer time, “Gobԑ” comes with lots of nutrients.
Meanwhile, in an interview, the sellers in the Twifo Atti- Mortwa district, lamented that the high prices of beans and palm oil being the prime ingredients have skyrocketed and have gotten a huge impact on the business.
They disclosed that customers complain bitterly about the quantity of Gobԑ in recent times which according to them is a result of the hike in prices of items on the market.
The sellers, therefore, appealed to the Government to tackle and find a lasting solution to the persistent depreciation of the cedi.
