A shocking act of violence has unfolded in the Diaso community of Upper Denkyira West, Central Region, as a man in his early 30s allegedly beheaded his girlfriend in a fit of jealousy over suspected infidelity.
According to reports, the incident took place on January 9, 2025, when the young woman was allegedly caught in an affair with another man. Witnesses say the couple was seen together earlier in the day, but after a few hours, the woman’s friends became concerned when they failed to hear from her.
Upon rushing to the boyfriend’s house, the friends discovered the woman’s lifeless body in a pool of blood, with multiple stab wounds to her neck.
The victim was found lying on the floor of the boyfriend’s room, a chilling scene that left the community in shock.
The boyfriend, identified as the alleged murderer, immediately fled the community following the brutal killing. Local authorities have since arrived at the scene and are working to control the growing crowd. Investigations into the crime are underway, though no arrest has been made as the suspect remains at large.
The deceased, a young woman from the Northern Region, had been in a relationship with the suspect for about a year.
This is the second murder of a woman in the Central Region within a week, both allegedly committed by boyfriends over suspicions of cheating. The first case took place in Awutu Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West District.
This latest incident has added to the growing tension in Diaso, a community that has seen several violent deaths in recent months. Last year, numerous murders linked to ritualistic practices also made headlines in the area.
The body of the deceased has been sent to the Dunkwa On-Offin District Government Hospital for an autopsy and preservation, as the police continue their search for the suspect.
