A 40-year-old old man, George Anim has died in police custody at the Twifo Praso Police station.
The deceased was accused of defiling a 14-year-old girl and was arrested and initially kept in custody at the Assin Awinsan District Police Station.
The accused who was said to have been arrested on the November 25, 2025 died in police cells three days later.
Family of the deceased who suspected their relative was killed sought answers from the police as to why marks were found on the body of the deceased suggesting he may have been assaulted.
The family petitioned the Inspection General of Police who sent a delegation to meet the family to assure them of getting to the button of the matter.
