A two-week-old baby has been rescued from a public toilet at Gomoa Potsin Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
The Mother of the child allegedly dumped the two-week-old baby in the early hours of Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
An eyewitness narrated that, he went to ease himself and heard the baby crying.
“As soon as I went into the toilet, I heard the baby crying.
Because the facility is two, I thought a mother might be occupying the adjacent one while carrying her baby but after knocking I heard no response.
I went back and heard the cries again and later discovered the child lying in the toilet”, he narrated.
The eyewitness added that “I called for help and some people assisted me to remove the baby.
“With a little help, we washed the baby and rushed him to the hospital.”
According to reports, the baby is responding to treatment at the Gomoa Potsin Polyclinic.
The mother of the child is yet to be found.
