Stichting Heart Of Grace Foundation has given a facelift to Ofadaa Methodist Basic School in the Central Region.
The non-profit organisation handed over a newly built toilet facility, borehole, renovated 9-Unit classroom block, restroom and kitchen for the school at the cost of GHc138,000.
At a commissioning ceremony held at the school’s premises, the foundation led by Madam Alberta Odame Awuah also donated seven computers, 16 tables, 96 chairs, a first aid box and other teaching and learning materials.
Addressing the gathering, the chairperson for the occasion, Very Rev. Samuel Nick Appiah expressed his excitement and appreciation to the Stichting Heart Of Grace Foundation stating that the renovated classroom block and teaching and learning materials donated will improve learning experience in the school.
He advised the school’s authority to develop maintenance plans to ensure that the renovated classroom block, borehole and toilet facility was in good condition every time.
Ms Alberta Odame Awuah addressing the media said the exercise was part of activities to help the less privileged children by impacting their lives and exposing them to educational benefits.
“We chose to give the Ofadaa Methodist Basic School a facelift because we at Stitching Heart of Grace Foundation believe strongly that every child has the right to education”, she said.
She said the Foundation had plans to also establish an ICT laboratory, canteen and a sickbay for the school.
Mr. Isaac Acquah Otoo, the headteacher of the school, commended the Foundation for the gesture and pledged strong collaboration with all relevant stakeholders in maintaining the school to promote quality teaching and learning at all times.
