A fatal road accident occurred at the Gomoa Buduatta Junction on the Winneba highway in the Gomoa East District, claiming one life and leaving three others in critical condition.
The collision involved a container trailer with registration number GE 8891-18 en route to Takoradi and a tipper truck with registration number GN 2314-21 heading to Kasoa.
Initial reports indicate that the trailer truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. Upon reaching the Buduatta Goil Fuel station, the vehicle veered into the path of the oncoming tipper truck, resulting in a violent impact.
The driver of the tipper truck was pronounced dead at the scene, while three occupants of the trailer sustained critical injuries. Emergency responders transported the injured to Kasoa Polyclinic for urgent medical treatment.
