Twifo Atti-Morkwa Police have arrested Regina Oforiwaa, a member of the National Democratic Congress for allegedly describing the Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency as incompetent.
According to Regina Oforiwaa, at the NDC central regional executives elections which took place in Winneba, the Legislature for Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency, Chief David Vondee also called members of the party uncivilized for voting for an illiterate person as NDC chairman for Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency.
The young woman noted that the denigrating comment from the MP didn’t go down well with the party members so she retorted.
Regina Oforiwaa admitted calling the Member of Parliament incompetent for not being able to put up one developmental project in the Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency since he was elected as MP.
Report indicated that a week after her comment, the Member of Parliament reported the case to the police to arrest her. Adding that she was immediately arrested and detained in the police cells for several hours when she was menstruating.
Member of Parliament for Twifo Atti-Morkwa constituency Hon. Chief David Vondee revealed to Wassaman FM that, the lady in question never said he was incompetent but rather she described him as a fraudster and scammer.
Hon. Chief David Vondee claims that he reported the case because the allegations damaged his reputation.
