The suspects reportedly posed as agents of a so-called “independent distributor of Neo Life Company Limited,” using the company name to deceive their victims with fake employment offers. They allegedly extorted money from desperate job seekers under the guise of processing fees and employment requirements.

According to ASP George Quainoo, Divisional Crime Officer, a total of 54 victims were rescued in the operation—comprising 15 Nigerians and 39 Ghanaians.

Investigations have so far identified a Nigerian national, Oladokun Kehinde, as the ringleader of the operation. He claimed to own the fraudulent company and was found to be operating in Ghana without a valid work permit. Kehinde is currently in police custody and assisting with further investigations.

Authorities are warning the public to remain vigilant against job scams, particularly those that demand upfront payments or offer unrealistic employment promises.

The police are urging individuals to report suspicious recruitment activities to help curb the growing trend of employment fraud in the country.
