Following a donation made by Atlantic Lithium, a mineral exploration company exploring lithium-bearing rocks, the Central Regional Coordinating Council (CRCC) and Mfantseman Municipal Assembly have commended its massive efforts and contributions towards the region’s development and Ghana at large.
In all, an amount of GH¢50,000 cheque was respectively presented to CRCC and Mfantseman Municipal Assembly to support the celebration of the 66th Independence Day.
Currently, the company is operating in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region on a prospecting basis. Mr. Kingsley Agyei Boahene, the Chief Director for CRCC expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the management of Atlantic Lithium for the kind gesture.
“We thank Atlantic Lithium for this wonderful gesture; we work closely with them in almost all the activities that we carry out over here, and we hope that we continue to build on this partnership to join forces to develop Central Region together.
Once again, we thank you for this presentation. Thank you.” Mr. Agyei Boahene noted that it will be exciting if an exploration and development firm, Atlantic Lithium is set to commence production at its lithium mine in Ghana, adding that it will create the needed job opportunities for people in the region and beyond.
This year’s event is on the theme: “Our Unity, Our Strength, Our Purpose”. On 6th March 1957, Ghana gained independence after 83 years of British colonial rule – becoming the first sub-Saharan African country to achieve independence from Britain.
The country’s first President, Dr Kwame Nkrumah declared Ghana “free forever” from colonial rule, marking a historic turning point in the governance of the country.
Since that day, every March 6 is celebrated across the country and among Ghanaians abroad with various activities, some of which are observed throughout March.
