Residents of Twifo Kyiaboso, Opokukrom, Denyase, Bimpong-Agya and Hanzozi in the Twifo Atti-morkwa district in the Central Region are bemoaning over the deplorable nature of road that connects them to Twifo Praso the district capital.

According to residents, the terrible nature of the road prevents teachers from accepting posting to any of the communities mentioned.

They also lamented that, there is a CHPS compound at Twifo Bimpong-Agya but nurses are not willing to come and work in the facility due to the bad road which as result has caused the untimely deaths of some pregnant women and other vulnerable people in the area.

The residents revealed that, there was a contractor who was working on the road but for almost four months now, either the contractor, his workers or his equipment is nowhere to be found.

Although residents claim the contractor has been off the site for almost four months, the DCE for Twifo Atti-morkwa district Hon Robert Agyemang Nyantakyi also responded that, the contractor is only going to celebrate the Christmas and so he would return to site just after the yuletide.

He added that, the contractor sought permission to use some of the machines on another project in Elmina.

He however urged residents to remain calm and assured them work will soon resume.
