The Chief of Twifo Wamaso in Twifo Ati-Morkwa District of the Central Region, Nana Fi-Agyemang II, has declared his intention of producing 1000 bags of maize in the district to assist the poultry farmers who find it difficult in getting feeds for their fowls and also Senior High Schools in the district every year.
The Chief who doubles as the Kontinhene of Ati-Morkwa Traditional Council, revealed that, he has also started 45 acres of coconut plantation which contains over 2,200 trees of coconuts to support the production of edible oil and other related coconut produce in the country.
His reason for venturing into crop farming is to make it very attractive to the youths and the general public.
Nana Fi emphasized that farming is very beneficial but one needs enough capital to start with, adding that, before he enrolled in the Agribusiness, he was then an International Business man but decided to channel the resources into farming in order to benefit the entire society.
He appealed to the government, NGOs and other benevolent individuals and groups to financially assist any youth who may have the intention to venture into farming activity because it needs money.
