A middle-aged woman escaped death last Saturday night after an unknown attacker stormed her house armed with a pistol while she was asleep and then opened fire, which sent bullets through the window seal, resulting in her sustaining multiple injuries on her back and around the neck.
The victim, known as Aba Safoa, who was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and is now recuperating from treatment, narrated her ordeal and said that she was suddenly woken up from her sleep by intense barking from the dogs in the vicinity, and this, she said, made her suspect of being an intruder into the compound.
According to her, there was a loud bang on the rooftop, which suddenly woke her up. She then tossed herself from the middle space of the bed to the corner, and immediately she felt someone had thrown pebbles at her and started screaming for help, which brought her co-tenant and neighbours to her aid and rushed her to the hospital.
The incident, which occurred at Adwenpayie, a suburb of the town, as expected, has sent many tongues wagging, with some even going to the extent of implicating several people, including the jilted boyfriend and husband of a daughter of the victim, known as Kow Mensah, as the potential suspect behind this heinous crime.
Meanwhile, the case has been reported to the police, who have launched an investigation into the attack and also arrest the perpetrator to face the law.
