Medeama SC recorded their first CAF Champions League victory against Remo Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium in their first leg match.
Medeama’s only goal of the game came on the 21st minute, after Jonathan Sowah’s long range shot completely beat Remo Stars goalkeeper to give the Tarkwa based club the lead.
The 2022/2023 Ghana Premier League Champions were denied a second goal after their free kick hit the cross bar.
The visitors almost got the equalizer before the break but failed to as they wasted their chances.
In the second half, Remo Stars kept pushing for the equalizer but Medeama were organized defensively, as they held onto their 1-0 lead to grab all three points.
With Medeama having an advantage, they will travel to Nigeria for the second leg tie this weekend.
