In their statement, the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference described the deceased as “men of proven dedication – public servants, politicians, technocrats, and gallant officers of the Ghana Armed Forces – who gave of themselves in service to the Republic, to its institutions, and to the people of this land.”

The Bishops’ Conference extended their heartfelt condolences to the grieving families, institutions, and communities affected by the tragedy.

The statement highlighted the significance of the lives lost, noting that their “sudden and untimely departure is not only a blow to their families and loved ones but a grave loss to the nation.”

The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference commended the departed souls to the mercy of the Eternal Father, praying for their peace and comfort for those left behind.

The statement concluded with a message of unity, strength, and hope for the nation during this time of collective grief.

The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference prayed that the country would find solace in the enduring value of service rooted in integrity, sacrifice, and the common good.

The statement was signed by Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, Bishop of Sunyani and President of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, on August 6, 2025.
