Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Antwi Boasiako, also called Chairman Wontumi, has ordered the removal of all posters and other paraphernalia of Alan Kyeremanten from all party offices in the region.
This is due to the former Minister for Trade and Industries’ decision to break away from the party.
Mr. Kyeremanten declared on Monday, September 25, 2023, that he had left the NPP and would run as an independent in the general elections in 2024.
Meanwhile, a memo signed by Chairman Wontumi and addressed to all constituency chairpersons in the region instructed that they remove all posters, banners, and other paraphernalia of Alan Kyeremanten since he has decided to leave the party.
“In view of Hon. Alan Kyerematen’s resignation from the party, all his posters, banners, flyers and paraphernalia at our party offices in all the constituencies must be removed with immediate effect. Once he has forfeited his membership, it is just right and fair that these items are removed from our offices,” the memo stated.
The former Trade Minister during Monday’s press conference bemoaned that his former party, the NPP, does not value him, though he wanted to serve the country through the NPP, for a period of time now, felt he is not well appreciated.
