The Black Galaxies put up a strong performance to come from a goal down against Sudan, to get their first win in the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

Ghana’s determination was seen in the game as they started pressing their opponent high up the field, looking to score the first goal of the match.

After the Black Galaxies failed to get the first goal, Sudan took their chance to take the lead through Nooh Al Gozoli, who beautifully chipped the ball over Ghana’s goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim on the 31st minute.

Just before the end of the first half, Konadu Yiadom kept the hopes of Annor Wlaker’s side alive after his deflected shot went into the goalpost, bringing Ghana on level.

Afriyie Barnieh showed a brilliant performance in the second half, as the former Hearts of Oak player scored from a penalty kick in the 64th minute, after he was brought down in the 18-yard box to give Ghana a 2-1 lead.

Barnieh, who looked to get a brace was denied a goal after VAR reversed the decision.

However, he was shown a red card for a clumsy challenge on a Sudanese player.

Despite being a man short, Seidu Suraj put the icing on the cake for the Black Galaxies after finding the roof of the Sudanese goal from close range.

The game ended 3-1 in favor of the Black Galaxies.

The win means Ghana are through to the quarterfinal of the tournament.
