Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Evans Bobie Opoku has encouraged players of the Black Galaxies to correct the mistakes of the Black Stars by qualifying for the next round of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament happening in Algeria.

The Black Stars, who made their fourth world cup appearance in Qatar failed to qualify out of their group, after recording two losses against Portugal and Uruguay, with their only win against South Korea.

Meanwhile, the Galaxies also lost their first group C opening match against Madagascar on Sunday, diminishing their chances of qualification.

In an interaction with players at the team’s camp in Constantine, the deputy minister said this tournament provides an opportunity for the Galaxies to rectify the mistakes the Black Stars made in Qatar 2022 World Cup.

“Going into Sudan’s game, I have a strong conviction that you can win, and the entire country is behind you.

“So, do not be down as you have the opportunity to correct what happened to us in Qatar.

“We cannot leave Algeria and go back home on Thursday so each and everyone of you who will make the first eleven will have to kill themselves to do everything to win against Sudan,” he added.
