Journalism in essence, according to many scholars in the world, is to educate, elaborate, and inform the General Public.
Nonetheless, In most cases and times, some journalists are not being circumspect, concise and clear in their reportage.
Some may choose to have a political stint with their paymasters and defray from their course of mandate.
Unlike the case of Kwame Koranteng, affectionately referred to as K.K., the Business Manager and the morning show host of Republic FM’s Anɔpa Dawuro programme, one may attest to the fact that he’s always on course to serve the Republic.
Undoubtedly, the morning show host has carved a niche for himself. Surprisingly, lots of people would wake up listening to Republic FM’s morning show due to his critical, subjective and hard-to-crack personality whiles on air.
There has been many instances where listeners have consistently hailed his ability to speak to issues of National Interest without being under any form of duress.
Kwame Koranteng has spent more than a decade in the Journalism field, educating, informing and asking relevant questions on behalf of his listeners.
He has had stints with Citi TV, working as a Producer and later joining EIB network’s Nkawkaw – based Agoo FM.
Today on Anopa Dawuro, an ardent Republic FM listener bestowed on him the king of all morning shows.
According to one sirDD, it’s without fear nor malice that Kwame Koranteng is true, a great Journalist.

It is without doubt that Kwame Koranteng is a great journalist. I respect his fleet of achievements and the journey he has lived in his career on the media space.
In his almost-closed age to his career(I know he will soon retire), he still has command over his relevance in the media. He has built that brand for himself, sort of like the Midas touch, so that whatever he involves himself in gets the attention of the masses.
At his age and a drop of his prowess, he still is an asset that some media are willing to pay millions for. Why? He is a good market value for these stations, though his performance may not be as exceptional as it used to be in his heydays. This is a timeless value any human can niche for himself.
The media is always waiting to feed on the slightest thing he does, to cash in some sika. Though sometimes they go overboard, this affirms the aforementioned fact about the value he has created for himself, both good and bad.
I don’t know if there already is, and if there isn’t, there should be a special study of his persona beyond the console and the brand he has carved for himself all these years. He should have a marketing and branding concept pinned to his name. Maybe “The KK Effect”.
Regardless of the fact that the conversation around the comparison between him and other journalist on who is the highly ranked morning Host is centered on awards but Kwame’s phenomenal status remains intact for me.
I admire Kwame’s feat. and there’s nothing wrong with that, while admiring another favorite player of the game. I don’t hate him, which would be needless and pointless to hate a man of his caliber. I hope he gives the media space his best before hanging his boots. A last “Suiiii!!” In C-ro’s voice to close down the curtains as one of the finest journalist of our time.
So yeah, all I want to say is, after the message, fa momo no hooki me WO 0248……
