The Minister of Interior, Henry Quartey, has renewed the curfew hours for the Chereponi Township and its surrounding areas in the North East Region from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m on Wednesday, August 14,2024.
In a statement signed by the sector minister, urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to exercise restraint in the face of ongoing challenges.
Henry Quartey urged members of the community to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace.
“Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted”, a portion of the statement read.
