Chris Hughton has announced a 55-man provisional squad for the 2023 Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023.
Premier League Champions Medeama SC have five players on the list. They include Hamidu Abdul Fatawu, Felix Kyei, Abdulai Nurudeen, Jonathan Sowah and Derrick Fordjour. Other home-based players in the provisional list are, Emmanuel Antwi and Benjamin Asare of Accra Great Olympics, John Antwi and Godfred Atuahene of Dreams FC, Razak Simpson of Nations FC as well as Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey.
Notable names like Mohammed Kudus, Joseph Wollacott, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, Thomas Partey, Abdul Samed Salis, and Majeed Ashimeru are in the squad.
AS Monaco player Mohammed Salisu who hasn’t featured for Ghana since the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 due to injury is also named in the provisional list.
The Black Stars are paired in Group B alongside Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde.
The Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023 is scheduled for Saturday, January 13 – Sunday, February 11, 2024.
