Ghanaian international Christian Atsu together with sporting director of his club, Taner Savut have been reportedly trapped under rubble on Monday morning, following an earthquake in Turkey.
Atsu plays for Hatayspor in the Turkish Super League.
According to reports, the former Chelsea and Newcastle forward has not been found after many of his teammates have been rescued.
After a powerful aftershock with a magnitude of 7.5 struck Turkey’s south hours after the initial earthquake, it is stated that the calamity has killed more than 1,300 people and injured around 6,000 more.
The 30-year-old played for his team this past weekend, and his goalโthe only oneโhelped Hatayspor defeat Kasimpasa 1-0.
