Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as bystanders rushed to help and emergency responders arrived at the scene. First responders worked to attend to the injured and secure the area, while onlookers expressed shock over the severity of the accident.

Authorities confirmed that the victim, a Colombian national, died from injuries sustained in the collision. Officials are reviewing the CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.

The incident has reignited calls for improved road safety and better traffic management in Accra, particularly in busy suburbs like East Legon, where congestion and heavy traffic contribute to a high risk of accidents.

Family members and the community have taken to social media to mourn the loss and emphasize the importance of road safety. Many are urging drivers to exercise caution to prevent similar tragedies.

Authorities have assured the public that a full investigation is underway and that all evidence, including CCTV recordings, will be used to establish accountability and recommend measures to enhance road safety.

The East Legon accident serves as a stark reminder of the need for stricter traffic enforcement, better infrastructure, and public awareness campaigns to reduce road fatalities in the city.
