The Municipal Chief Executive for Kwahu South, Emmanuel Atta Ofori – Snr, has hinted that the construction works on the Bepong-Ntomem road will start ending of July 2022.

The MCE revealed that the Contractor has assured him the road will begin very soon.

Mr Ofori Atta made known that the delay in the construction of the road was due to some document issues and the pre-financed system in the country.

“God being so good, the roads minister came to cut sod for the Bepong-Ntomem road but the contractor had few issues and withdraw but he was able to return to the site and has been able to complete the first phase of 29.7 kilometres but what is left is some few documentations because, according to him, he realized the kilometres given him does not correspond with what he had to offer so he wrote to the Regional highways and they are through with that issue now. I spoke to him last week and he told me he would be returning to site this month ending”, he said while having a one-on-one interview on Republic FM’s Anɔpa Dawuro on Thursday, July, 28.

He also added that the deplorable Mpraeso – Kwasi – Fori road has been given out on a contract about a year and a half ago.

He said the road had been abandoned due to the financial incapability of the contractor.

He further said, his last engagement with the regional highways director three weeks ago revealed that the road will begin with an existing contractor who worked on the Mpraeso township roads phase 1 project.
