The Kumasi High Court has for the third time adjourned the case of Police Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend at Adum.

Victoria Dapaah also known as Maa Adwoa was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi on 20th April 2023 at Adum some few meters from her home.

A few days later, her supposed boyfriend, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, was arrested.

On May 31, 2023, Inspector Twumasi was remanded by Asokore Mampong District Court in the Ashanti Region for the alleged act.

In court Inspector Twumasi initially confessed to committing the act but also insisted that it was not his intention to kill his girlfriend after CCTV footage showed the Inspector shooting his supposed girlfriend multiple times.

But appearing in court for the second time, the police inspector pleaded not guilty and was formally charged with murder as the prosecution had received advice from the office of the Attorney General.

A seven-member jury was constituted to carefully consider all the facts presented during the trial.

Appearing in court on Monday, August 28, 2023, the state attorney requested more time to file trial documents including witness statements.

Counsel for the accused agreed hence the case was adjourned to September 19, 2023, with the accused still remanded into prison custody
