An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to TikTok content creator Prince Ofori, popularly known as Fante Comedy, in the sum of GH¢100,000 with three sureties.
Per the court’s directive, at least two of the sureties must be gainfully employed.
In addition, the accused has been ordered to surrender his passport to the Ghana Police Service until the court decides otherwise.
The social media personality was arrested on Tuesday, August 12, together with two other individuals, in connection with allegations of issuing a death threat and circulating false information related to the August 6 helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
The Ghana Police Service, working alongside other security agencies, initiated the arrest as part of investigations into public commentary and alleged misinformation that followed the fatal crash.
During Tuesday’s proceedings, counsel for the accused pleaded for bail, citing cooperation with investigators and readiness to comply with court directives.
The presiding judge, after considering the application, granted bail with strict conditions.
The case has been adjourned to August 25, 2025, for continuation of hearings.
