COVID-19: Noguchi warns of ‘serious outbreak’

A statement from Ghana’s largest Covid-19 testing centre, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, has disclosed that the country is recording cases among persons who have been fully vaccinated.

A statement from Ghana’s largest Covid-19 testing centre, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, has disclosed that the country is recording cases among persons who have been fully vaccinated.
It also warns of a serious outbreak of the virus if urgent steps are not taken to curb the spread.
They are therefore calling on the government to take a second look at the state of adherence to COVID-19 preventive protocols and institute appropriate restrictions.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country currently stands at 4,094, the latest figures from the Ghana Health Service indicates.
Some 422 new cases were recently confirmed.
The death toll has also risen to 821.
The total number of COVID-19 cases recorded in the country is 101, 170 with 96,255 recoveries.
