The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) has arrested a student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford, for publication of obscene material online contrary to section 280 of the Criminal and other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
On Friday, 27th February, 2026, the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team came across a viral intimate videos circulating on social media involving a 23-year-old student, Nhyira Papa Kojo Egyir Hayford during cyber patrol.
The content was posted on Snapchat public account by the below name @biggforddd123.
The recordings involved multiple females, with recordings dating between 2023 and January 26th, 2026.
The suspect was immediately invited and questioned about the videos, and he admitted to posting the same on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026.
He indicated that they were in response to a TikTok challenge known as “Anti Shakira’s.” He further admitted to recording another sex video in 2023 which he claimed to have sold to an American woman known as Naya, for an amount of USD 600 equivalent to GH¢6,500 at the time.
One of the women featured in the videos identified as Portia Ampofo, was also invited to the station for investigation.
Based on the facts established during the interview, the suspect was handed over to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), headquarters for further investigation.
Last night, the suspect was released on police enquiry bail as investigations continue.
The police take this opportunity to caution the general public against posting obsecene and other related materials online since that is against the laws of the land.
The police say, it will go all out to ensure that the Internet is safe for every Ghanaian.
