Ghana has recorded a drop in inflation for the month of December, 2023 from 26.4% to 23.2%.
This has been the fifth consecutive month the country recorded a drop in inflation in 2023.
According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data released by the Ghana Statistical Service on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 food inflation stood at 28.7 percent while non-food inflation recorded 18.7 percent.
Month-on-month inflation between November 2023 and December 2023 was 1.2 percent.
Inflation for locally produced items also stood at 23.8 percent while inflation for imported items stood at 21.9 percent.
On regional basis, the Eastern region recorded the highest food inflation rate of 51.3 percent while the Upper East recorded the lowest food inflation rate of 18.8 percent.
Western region on the other hand recorded the highest non-food inflation rate of 36.0% while the Greater Accra region recorded the lowest non-food inflation rate of 11.9%
