Deputy Gender Minister tours LEAP payment sites

As part of monitoring activities of the LEAP Grant Payment Exercise (75th and 76th Cycles) across the country, the Deputy Minister of Gender children and Social Protection, Madam Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu conducted a monitoring exercise from 28th to 29th April, 2022 in the North East Region.

As part of monitoring activities of the LEAP Grant Payment Exercise (75th and 76th Cycles) across the country, the Deputy Minister of Gender children and Social Protection, Madam Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu conducted a monitoring exercise from 28th to 29th April, 2022 in the North East Region.

The Deputy Minister visited some LEAP payment points namely; Arigu, Gbeo, Namiyala, Suhuluya, Kparipiri, Kpatusi and Tempala- Wulugu in the West Mamprusi Municipality.

The monitoring exercise by the Deputy Minister was to observe payment process in order to acquire information and insights into the LEAP programme.

Interacting with beneficiaries, Hon. Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu indicated that the LEAP programme seeks to smoothen household consumption, promote productive inclusion and enhance access to social services. Urging them to put the monies given them to good use.

The LEAP programme is one of Ghana’s flagship social protection interventions which provides cash transfer targeted at reducing poverty by increasing consumption and promoting access to social services such as education, health and opportunities among extremely poor households in Ghana.
