The first engagement was with the organizers of the Ghana Mining Week which is scheduled for May 13th – 15th 2023.

At the meeting, Mr. Duker disclosed the Ministry’s expectations and assured them of his outfit’s maximum cooperation towards a successful event this year. Subsequent meetings will be held at the ministry.

The Deputy Minister also engaged the equipment tracking committee of the Minerals Commission to, among other things, provide an update on the activities of the newly commissioned situational room, meant to monitor illegal mining activities. The committee assured the Deputy Minister that progress is being made.

Again, Mr. Duker engaged members of the Planning Committee of the Ministry’s upcoming Stakeholders Dialogue on Managing Ghana’s Natural Resources slated for May 11th – 12th 2023 in collaboration with Graphic Group Communications Ltd.

The Deputy Minister wrapped up a busy day with a meeting with a delegation of German investors who are interested to establish a glass factory in the Western Region of Ghana.

He indicated the Ministry’s readiness to provide all the needed support to enable them to acquire the necessary licences and permits to mine the main raw material, silica, for their operations. The government will continue to provide an enabling environment for such companies to thrive.
