Deputy Lands Minister inspects housing projects for Police, DVLA, GMS

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, responsible for Lands and Forestry, Benito Owusu-Bio on Friday, 26th August 2022 embarked on a working visit to inspect an ongoing housing project for Personnel of the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Meteorological Service and the DVLA.

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, responsible for Lands and Forestry, Benito Owusu-Bio on Friday, 26th August 2022 embarked on a working visit to inspect an ongoing housing project for Personnel of the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Meteorological Service and the DVLA.

Mr Benito said his visit to the site was also to ascertain the level of work done so far and to ensure that the contractors deliver on schedule.

Having toured the vicinity, Hon. Benito disclosed that the police station within the new community will serve those in the neighbouring areas as well.

Mr Maxwell Adu-Nsarfoa, the Technical Director for Lands who accompanied the Deputy Minister disclosed that the project is a relocation of the residents of the Ghana Airport Company and the Meteorological Service at jubilee enclave and also to pay way for the construction of the Jubilee City Project.

He expressed his joy on the progress of work saying “work is far advanced and we are hopeful that the contractors will meet the deadline”.

The project which is a land swap agreement between the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry, Ministry of Interior, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and a private developer is located at Kwabenya( Atomic), a suburb of Accra.

It includes 504 housing units, a clinic, a school block, police maintenance unit, a police barracks, police station, fuel depot and a garage.
