The Director Mission Support (DMS) of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), Ms Melva Crouch, has commissioned a state-of-the-art multipurpose office complex for the Ghana Battalion (GHANBATT) serving with UNIFIL.
Commissioning the edifice, which has a Tactical Operations Centre, Conference Hall and offices designed to provide a range of facilities and services, the DMS commended Lieutenant Colonel Issac Kobe Boako for his exemplary leadership and vision in putting up the edifice.
The Commanding Officer, UNIFIL GHANBATT 91, Lieutenant Colonel Boako, expressed fulfilment in the new facility, stating that it would replace the 18-year-old prefab unit that exposed troops to danger during the period of the cross-border escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
