The Ghana National Canoe Fishermen Council is appealing to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to reshuffle the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The Ghana National Canoe Fishermen Council is appealing to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to reshuffle the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister, Mavis Hawa Koomson.

The council emphasized that over the past fifteen to twenty years, the industry has not had a hard-working Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister like Hon Mavis Hawa Koomson.

Speaking to the media, the secretary to the council, Nana Kwame Yaw Ababio III said, although, the President of the Republic has the mandate to reshuffle his appointees, the Small Scale Fishers in the Central Region hence pleads with the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to consider the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mavis Hawa Koomson in his reshuffle because she has unfinished business which is very crucial and beneficial to the very survival of the artisanal fishers which is the heartbeat of the coastal inhabitants.

Some of the members of the Ghana National Canoe Fishermen Council also commended Mavis Hawa Koomson for her selfless work exhibited in the fishing industry, hence calling on President Akufo-Addo to reward the Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister.
