The Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeayo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has broken ground for the construction of an Accident and Emergency Unit at the Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital to enhance emergency healthcare services.
During a recent routine visit to the hospital, Osagyefo Dr. Agyemang Badu II donated GH¢100,000 for the renovation of the ongoing male ward.
He then requested the hospital’s board and management to provide land for a significant project aimed at further supporting the hospital’s operations.
In response, the management identified the need for an expanded emergency unit due to the increasing number of emergency cases and the limited capacity of the current facility, which has faced public criticism.
At the sod-cutting ceremony on Thursday, October 11, 2024, Osagyefo pledged to complete the new facility by December 31, 2025.
He also donated an additional GH¢100,000 for the male ward renovation and committed to ongoing support for the hospital and other healthcare facilities within the Dormaa East and Dormaa West districts, in a bid to improve healthcare delivery in the Dormaa Traditional Council area.
Rev. Dr. Isaac Appiah, General Manager of Dormaa Ahenkro Presbyterian Hospital, expressed gratitude to Osagyefo Dr. Agyemang Badu II for his generous contributions and continued dedication to the hospital’s development.
He assured the Chief that the hospital staff would work diligently to provide quality healthcare.
Rev. Dr. Appiah also outlined the plans for the new emergency unit, which will include a theater and VIP wards to improve the hospital’s services.
