New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate aspirant, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has commiserated with the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu as Asanteman pays a solemn farewell to the late Asante Hemaa Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom II

The Abetifi Lawmaker joins tall lists of state officials, corporate and business men to have commiserated with the Asantehene.

In a Facebook post cited on Thursday, September 18, Dr. Bryan Acheampong described the late Asantehemaa as an embodiment of wisdom, grace and service, that will forever be echoed in the minds of Ghanaians.

“I joined Asanteman to bid a solemn farewell to the Asantehemaa. It was an honour to pay my respects and commiserate with our beloved Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the entire Asanteman.

Her legacy of grace, wisdom, and service will forever be remembered and will echo in our tradition. May her soul rest in perfect”,

President John Dramani Mahama and his Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, joined a host of dignitaries at the funeral rites of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, in Kumasi.

The ceremony also saw the presence of former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor, Nana Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and former Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, highlighting the national significance of the occasion.

Mourners from across Ghana and abroad, including Inspector General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, chiefs, ministers, MPs, former legislators, business leaders, and citizens, gathered to console the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the royal family.

Kumasi came to a near standstill, with shops and markets shuttered in line with a directive banning commercial activity during the funeral to maintain the solemnity of the rites.

Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III, revered for her role in preserving tradition and fostering unity across Asanteman, is being laid to rest with elaborate ceremonies befitting her position.

Security has been intensified throughout the city as thousands continue to stream to Manhyia Palace to pay their final respects to the late Queen Mother.

She passed on August 7, 2025, at the age of 98.
