Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Food and Agriculture and Presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed profound sorrow following the formal announcement of the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, at the Asanteman Council Meeting held on August 11, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.
In a letter addressed to His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Dr. Acheampong described the late Queen Mother as “a towering symbol of grace, wisdom, and cultural continuity,” whose reign embodied the sacred traditions of Asanteman and whose influence extended far beyond its borders.
“Nana Konadu Yiadom III nurtured unity, upheld dignity, and served as a custodian of our cherished heritage,” he stated. “Her passing marks a solemn moment in our national history. Ghana mourns with Asanteman.”
Dr. Acheampong extended his deepest condolences to the Asantehene, the royal family, and the people of Asanteman, praying for divine strength and comfort during this period of mourning.
The legacy of Nana Konadu Yiadom III will remain a beacon of leadership and love for generations to come.
