Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Minister of Agriculture and Member of Parliament for the Abetifi Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to empowering artisans through his skill development initiative.
At the fourth edition of the program held in Kwahu Tafo, 155 seamstress and hairdresser graduates received sewing machines, hairdryers, and a seed capital of 3,000 cedis each to support their businesses. Additionally, he presented 150,000 cedis to their trainers as a gesture of appreciation for their mentorship.
The initiative, valued at over 850,000 cedis this year, has grown steadily since its inception. Starting with 30 graduates in its first edition, the program expanded to 50 graduates in its second and 86 in the third, culminating in the current 155 beneficiaries. It aims to provide vocational skills to individuals unable to pursue formal education, equipping them for sustainable livelihoods.
During the event, Dr. Acheampong also highlighted major development projects underway in the constituency, including road improvements, enhanced electricity supply, and the ongoing Kwahu Airport project.
He urged constituents to support his re-election bid and vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the upcoming elections, promising continued development and transformative leadership for Kwahu.
The initiative reflects Dr. Acheampong’s dedication to fostering economic empowerment and growth in the Abetifi Constituency.
