The Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), has officially introduced Dr. Oliver-Kevor as the new Director-General of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA).
During the introduction, Hon. George called on the management and staff of NITA to extend their full support to Dr. Oliver-Kevor as he leads the agency through a restructuring agenda aimed at enhancing its operations. He underscored NITA’s critical role in Ghana’s digital transformation, particularly in ICT policy implementation, cybersecurity, and e-governance.
Dr. Oliver-Kevor joins NITA with over two decades of experience in academia and the technology sector, specializing in Knowledge Management Systems, ICT and SME studies, Telecommunications, and Information Security. His extensive expertise in research and digital technology is expected to drive strategic reforms that will strengthen Ghana’s ICT regulatory framework and digital infrastructure.
Before his appointment, Dr. Oliver-Kevor served as a board member of the National Communications Authority (NCA) during President Mahama’s first administration, where he played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s telecommunications regulations. Additionally, he represented Ghana as a government expert on International Information Security at the United Nations, contributing to global policy discussions on cybersecurity and digital resilience.
Dr. Oliver-Kevor holds a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Ghana, a Master of Science in ICT and Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
With his leadership, NITA is expected to enhance ICT governance, expand digital infrastructure, and strengthen cybersecurity frameworks to support Ghana’s rapidly growing digital economy.
